Project:
Sydney Water has a huge number of employees covering a wide range of duties. The aim of this project was to make all employees aware of how ESD affects their role within the company, especially the social and economic aspects. The training was part of the corporation's compliance with its operating licence.
Our Brief:
- answer the essential question - what is Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD)? - and this was as difficult as it sounds!
- deliver the program on Sydney Water's Intranet site 'ConnectNet' with database connectivity and the ability for future modules to be added. Build the program to run on both Netscape and Internet Explorer using animation and colourful graphics. - make it sing and dance a bit...
- make the program easy and fun to use - many people taking the training may not use computers in their day-to-day activities, so make it easy to use.
Interesting Bits:
- working with Sydney Water's wonderful subject matter experts - Fabian, Rebecca, Karen, Michael - and participating in their strong connection to their learning objectives.
- using the web technology Flash to respond to database information.
- keeping the boardroom lolly bowls freshly stocked with Rebecca's, Karen's, Fabian's and Michael's favourites.
- learning all about the many aspects to ESD and changing The Learning Group's own office practices to be more environmentally friendly.
- understanding the true difference between of "sewage" and "sewerage".
