Project:

The HIC is a large federal employer with offices all over Australia. The HIC orientation course is designed to not only fulfill their needs of delivering consistent training, but also to maintain the sense of human contact more normally associated with face to face training. How did we approach this?

Our Brief:

• develop a colourful training program - one which achieved all project objectives, and also served as a meaningful evaluation of using computer assisted learning in other areas.
  
• work in a joint project team - train HIC personnel in design and authoring and actually let them develop part of the module! Participate and advise on the rollout of the module

Project:

An Intranet Starter Kit for the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register

Our Brief:

• what could be better than using the HIC Immunisation bear, "Saban," to host an interactive CD-ROM teaching doctors and nurses how to use the new HIC web site?
  
• the Starter Kit has lots of neat stuff, from a quick 3 minute "sneak preview" of the benefits of using the site to downloads of what is needed to get started.

• there are interesting Did You Know facts, Frequently Asked Questions, and a training area which lets medical practitioners try their hand at using an interactive simulation of the site. There's a lot to learn, but it's worth learning...
  
• high point of the project? Holding our breath while 20,000 CD's were sent out to doctors across Australia...

Interesting Bits:

• working closely with the HIC team - we love these people! This team lead by Poppy Thamsongsana, moves faster than any client we've ever had.

• learning about Medicare, Immunisation and Pharmaceutical Benefits - we're not quite as fearful of getting sick as we used to be.
  
• the countless trips to Canberra with our recording equipment - we almost bought a home there!
  
• the Animal Game - employees have to match each manager they hear from to an animal they would like to be - then get them to hear why...
