CUSTOMER GALLERY : BORAL TYRES

|
Project:
Provide an interactive training module for Boral Tyres staff which teaches them the correct way to input and maintain data in their Boral Tyres Business System.
Our Brief:
- provide real-world customer situations for Boral Tyres employees to test themselves on a simulated training version of the BTBS software - users need to know how to handle our most fundamental transactions with customers. Simulate the BTBS software so that if our users perform an action incorrectly, they receive detailed feedback, and are shown how to correct it.
- provide different levels of support during the simulations - let the user decide how much assistance is given while they are taking these work scenarios.
- provide a performance support option - the module needs to be both a training tool, as well as a performance support tool. Many of the tasks being taught are performed only monthly, allowing users, once certified in that area, to access the simulation directly after signing on. This will allow them to find only what they need very quickly.
- provide an interactive process flow for each area which users can explore - our users don’t understand how our work processes move from one area to another.
- provide brief conceptual overviews for each of the training areas, as well as "expert" knowledge points of interest - get our average users up to speed - teach them what our expert users know.
- certification assessment - for the training areas nominated, provide a formal certification for users - work situations for which they must use the BTBS system properly, with no assistance. Track these scores for management.
- analysis of the results - provide a database which allows Boral Tyres management to analyse the training results of the module, and tune the training to focus on weak areas.
Interesting Bits:
- our favourite parts - QuickView performance support, John Wakeham's dedication.
- graphical interface - very good feedback on the layout and overall look of the module.
