The first Sports Day for 2006
On Friday the 17th of March, beachgoers and picnickers at Neilson Park were startled by the arrival of a small flotilla of kayaks. The motley crew landed on the beach and began scurrying through the park in a desperate search for clues.
If you witnessed this strange sight – it was us! TLG held the first Sports Day for 2006 at Strickland House, just around the harbour from Neilson Park.
Starting out at Rose Bay, we hired kayaks and paddled them over to Strickland House for a company picnic. This was followed by a Treasure Hunt Challenge that saw us trekking through the bush, paddling around to Neilson Park and writing limericks along the way in homage to St. Patrick’s Day. There were several challenges along the way, with the most entertaining being the ladies who tried to make a ‘Don Johnson-style' leap into their kayak!
After all these adventures, we were certainly looking forward to putting our feet up for the weekend!
A big thank you goes out to Cathy, Tom and Virgilio for organising such an action-packed and fun-filled afternoon. We’re all bursting with anticipation as to what’s planned for the next Sports Day!
