Mark’s cameo presentation at Deakin University…
Mark Samuels, from our Business Solutions team, was guest speaker at an e-learning lecture to 2nd year Human Resources students at the Bowater School of Management, part of the Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University.
Mark’s presentation, “Adventures in e-learning”, provided an important introduction to the e-learning lecture, discussing key issues that organisations face, including what does and doesn’t work in the online learning environment. The presentation featured examples of interactive online projects that The Learning Group has developed and was met with a flood of questions, including:

“How can organisations use e-learning in conjunction with training needs analysis?” and,
-
“How can learning content be converted into an effective online learning course?”
Ms Yuka Fujimoto, Lecturer at the Bowater School of Management, gave her summary of the session:
"Our Human Resource Development Unit welcomed guest speaker Mark Samuels from The Learning Group at Monday’s lecture (Monday 30th August 2004) . The class had an objective of "linking HRD theory into practice". Approximately forty students enjoyed an excellent session in understanding HRD in today's business context, namely on-line learning".
