The 2003 Learning Group NRL Tipping Comp is over!
There were tantrums, tears and smiles as the 2003 NRL season finished. With the closest comp in history, in fact having the Top 5 tippers within 4 points, being decided right up until the Grand Final. Out of 11 "tipsters", we had a tie for first place with Anette Karlsson and Ida Borela on 236 points. Both of them being the gracious winners you would expect them to be...ahem. Then Tom Buckle surprised all, except himself, by leap-frogging Jason Cashel and Scott Hall-Watson by 1 point after the Grand Final, to claim third place behind Ida and Anette.
Tom finished on 233, while Jason and Scott finished on 232...damn those Roosters! Still smiling at the other end of the tipping ladder was Vanessa Watson, who collected the wooden spoon. Vanessa was heard to quote "...just wait for the return of the mighty Tigers in 2004"...we'll just see about that Vanessa.
The next exciting tipping comp has started - The 2003 Rugby World Cup! What do ya-wanna-be?....a Walla-Wallaby!
